INTERPRETATION OF THE UKPSA CONSTITUTION

Ser: 2022/001

Purpose

  1. The purpose of this interpretation of the UKPSA constitution is to clarify the situation, with regard to the provision of insurance under the Associations’ policies, should Regional Organisers and Area Ambassadors invite individuals to experience our sport at locations not recognised as affiliated club ranges.

Interpretation

  1. In accordance with Article XV of the Associations’ constitution, Council makes the following interpretation of Article XIX of the constitution.

XIX Visitors

Visitors may be invited to shoots by members of the Association, with the sanction of a Regional Organiser or other officer of the Association, and such visitors shall automatically become members of the Association for that day.

  1. Council interprets the above article as follows:
    1. Visitors. Council interprets ‘Visitors’ to be anyone who is not at the time in question a member of the UKPSA as recorded within the Associations’ Management Information System.
    2. Shoots. Council interprets ‘shoots’ to be any activity, less any recognised match, which has been pre notified to the PRO12 which involves live firing on any range facility where a member of the Association has been given approval to establish representative IPSC Courses of Fire or similar for the purposes of demonstration and allowing prospective affiliates to experience the sport.
  2. This interpretation is made on 12 Jan 2022 and shall remain extant until it is withdrawn by resolution of Council.
