UKPSA 2024 AGM and Council Positions

UKPSA 2024 AGM and Council Positions

Calling notice for the UKPSA annual General Meeting on 28th January 2024, to be held virtually, via Google meet.

At the 2023 there was a vote to hold the 2024 AGM either remotely or in person. Whilst a face-to-face AGM was voted upon, the council were tasked with looking at alternatives to this. Over the past few months, several options were discussed and eventually an agreement was reached to hold the AGM remotely. A number of factors were considered such as costs, accessibility, and attendee numbers over past years. Full details of the meeting will be circulated to all members via email in the coming week(s).

As part of the AGM process and in keeping with the constitution and byelaws of the association, you, the members, vote on the appointment of individuals to the UKPSA executive council.

The executive Council is made up of five members.

  • Chair (person)
  • Regional Director
  • Public Relations Officer
  • Treasurer
  • Secretary

An outline of the roles and responsibilities of each of these positions is outlined in the association’s constitution and expressions of interest are invited form any interested party. If you wish to be considered for any of these the roles please email an expression of interest, including a photograph, to secretary@UKPSA.org introducing yourself, any experience you have and what you feel you can bring to the role by no later than 14th January 2024. Following which that information will be shared with all members of the association to view and consider prior to voting at the AGM. Currently all executive council members are trustees of the UKPSA as a charity and you will be required to undertake Charity trustee training if you accept a position.

Voting will be conducted by a secure voting system and individual invites will be sent to all members prior to the AGM. Please note, contact data is taken from the JustGo membership system so please ensure your profile information is up to date.

In addition to the executive council, there are several other roles that are fulfilled by members of the association, all of which are listed below. As with the Executive Council positions,  if you wish to be considered for the role please email an expression of interest, including a photograph, to secretary@UKPSA.org introducing yourself, any experience you have and what you feel you can bring to the role by no later than 14th January 2024. As these positions are appointed by the incoming executive council, your information will not be shared with the membership prior to the AGM. However, information on your appointment will be shared if you are successful.

The role of the council members, what they do and have achieved is contained in both the constitution and in the records of council meetings and projects the association has undertaken over the years. All of which are accessible to you as members. This is an opportunity for you to help steer the association and be a part of any changes or improvements you feel it needs to make.

All these roles are important to the running of the association and are open to any member. Taking on a council role does require commitment, but it is not onerous. It gives everyone the opportunity to help support and develop the association and its membership and I would encourage as many people as possible to consider these roles and apply.
